A former salesman of the Cooperative Agriculture Service Society (CASS), Bhura Kohna village, here has been booked for committing irregularities to the tune of Rs 4.16 lakh by selling certain products. A case has been registered against the former salesman, who has been identified as Gursahib Singh, by the Khemkaran police on Thursday. Varinder Kumar, Inspector of the Cooperative Department, said an inquiry into the case was conducted by the DSP, Bhikhiwind, who found that the accused got goods worth Rs 4.16 lakh issued and failed to give details.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
