Foundation stone of gates on roads leading to Sikh shrine in Ramdas laid

Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Monday laid the foundation stone of building beautiful gates on all the four main roads leading to Ramdas, a historic border town associated with Brahm Giani Baba Buddha Sahib.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had released approximately Rs 2.75 crore for the gates. Talking to mediapersons, he said developing the city of Baba Buddha Sahib was his main goal and he was constantly working for it. The main road connecting the gurdwara dedicated to Baba Buddha Sahib has already been constructed and now big gates will be raised on the four main roads. The link roads leading from Ramdas to the villages have also been constructed and now the Ramdas nagar council will kick off development works in the town. He thanked the Chief Minister of Punjab for this valuable gift to the Sikh sangat.

Dhaliwal said the Ministry of Railways will shortly start work on building a new railway station at Ramdas and the name of the station will now be named after Baba Buddha Sahib. Accusing previous governments, he said that this historical and holy place of Baba Buddha Sahib was continuously neglected, while our government started development work for this historical city from the very first day.

Congratulating Harjinder Singh Dhami for being re-elected president of the SGPC, Dhaliwal said he should work for the propagation of Sikhism and not for a family. He refuted the allegations of the Aam Aadmi Party interfering in the religious affairs of the Sikhs and categorically stated that his party does not interfere in the affairs of the religious institutions.
