Amritsar city and rural police have arrested four persons in three separate incidents and confiscated approximately 300 grams of heroin from their possession.

In the first instance, the CIA staff of city police arrested Akashdeep Singh alias Akash of Kohali village falling under Lopoke police station and recovered 209 grams of contraband from him.

Binderjit Singh, in-charge, CIA Staff -2, said that the police team led by ASI Lajpat Rai was at Baba Jeewan Singh Colony when it intercepted a bike-borne person, identified as Akashdeep Singh. During a search, the police confiscated 209 grams of heroin from him. He was produced in court and brought on police remand for further investigations to ascertain the source of drugs and his backward and forward linkages.
