Four persons were injured when two buses collided outside Nexus shopping mall near Taran Wala Pull here today evening.

The accident happened when brakes of a private bus failed. The private bus hit another Punjab Roadways bus going ahead of it. Four passengers travelling in the private bus were injured in the accident.
A carvan of Cabinet minister Harbhajan Singh ETO was also passing through the road at that time of the accident. On seeing rush at the accident spot, ETO stopped and made arrangements for taking the injured to a hospital.
Eyewitnesses said the private bus was going from Amritsar to Beas. As the bus came down from the elevated road, its brakes failed. Although bus driver started honking continuously to alert drivers to move their vehicles aside, it collided with roadways bus which was going from Amritsar to Chandigarh. A car was also damaged in the accident.
The police said investigation was in progress and appropriate action would be taken in this connection.
