In an initiative to boost the state’s fruit farming sector, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has selected Dr Tanjeet Singh Chahal, a fruit scientist, for an advanced three-month training programme at California State University, Fresno, USA. The programme, running from February 20 to May 20, 2025, aims to further enhance nursery production systems for fruit crops.

Currently posted as the in-charge of the Fruit Research Station in Jallowal, Jalandhar, Dr Chahal also heads the hi-tech fruit nursery production unit, which has been providing quality citrus plants to fruit growers in Punjab for over 13 years.
