SSP Aditya said the police were after him ever since he and his aides accomplice fired shots at a watch showroom last week. He has been identified as Rahul. The encounter took place near the Babri bypass. A team of the city police station, led by SHO Davinder Parkash, was chasing him, when he suddenly opened fire on them while riding atop a motorcycle. The cops fired in retaliation and injured him. He was admitted to the Gurdaspur Civil Hospital. SP Aditya claimed that the police had identified his accomplice. “We will be arresting him soon,” he said. Sources say the gangster demanded extortion from the watch showroom owner.
