Vice Chancellor Karamjeet Singh said the university had taken a proactive role in supporting the vision of a “clean and green Amritsar”. “The university will work in collaboration with district administration — particularly the Municipal Corporation Commissioner and the DC — for continuous guidance and support. To actualise the mission, GNDU has evolved a comprehensive five-point strategy — regular cleanliness drives, appointment of cleanliness ambassadors, carrying out of signature pledge campaign, awareness through dialogue and culture exchange.”

Today, GNDU organised a cleanliness drive, in which around 200 volunteers, led by the NSS unit, along with teachers, non-teaching staff, and students, participated. NSS in-charge Balbir Singh said a pledge-based signature campaign had been initiated underway to motivate shopkeepers and residents to keep their surroundings clean.
