The state government to construct indoor multipurpose sports stadium at a cost of Rs 18 crore at Raminder Singh Bolaria park, popularly known as Sakatri Bagh.

Political Adviser to Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, Inderbir Singh Bolaria, who is also MLA from Amritsar south, said the tender process was completed and construction of the stadium would commence soon.

Apart from the park, many other development works were under progress in the constituency, he said and added that party workers were assigned duties to supervise the civil works of different wards.

He said the laying of water supply pipes in the Sultanwind area would begin soon.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
