The minister inspected the parade and took salute from the marching contingents.
Congratulating the people on the momentous occasion, the minister highlighted the achievements of the state government and said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was fully committed to realising the dreams of martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice in order to rid the country of foreign yoke.
The minister also shared his views on public welfare policies and development schemes of the state government. He honoured the family members of freedom fighters and martyred soldiers on the occasion and distributed tricycles to the needy. He also honoured eminent personalities for their achievements in various fields. A grant of Rs 25 lakh was announced for constructing a nature park at village Narli, the native place of Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s ancestors.
Among others present were MLA from Khemkaran, Sarwan Singh Dhun, District and Sessions Judge Kanwaljit Singh Bajwa, Deputy Commissioner Rahul, Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajpal Singh Sandhu, Senior Superintendent of Police Deepak Pareek, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rajdeep Singh Brar and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Sanjeev Sharma.
