Universal Academy, Tarn Taran, organised a special assembly on Thursday to commemorate the martyrdom of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru. The assembly aimed to pay tribute to the Guru’s sacrifice and promote values of courage, sacrifice and unity among students. Speeches and Shabad that highlighted the life and teachings of Guru Teg Bahadur were a key feature of the

assembly. Students and teachers alike participated with enthusiasm and dedication.

School principal Jasbeer Kaur Sidhu emphasised the significance of Guru Teg Bahadur’s martyrdom and encouraged students to emulate his values in their daily lives. The assembly concluded with a vote of thanks and pledge to uphold the principles of justice, equality and compassion shown by Guru Teg Bahadur.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
