Dr Dhawan stated that the Punjab Government is committed to providing quick and efficient services to citizens. He added that the Health Department is sincerely fulfilling its responsibilities in line with the government’s directives. “Since I took charge, I have made it a priority to clear all pending medical bills. No one should face unnecessary delays or harassment in government offices,” he said.

He further mentioned that clear directions have been issued to all senior medical officers in government hospitals to maintain the quality of healthcare services. If any officer or employee is found negligent or careless in performing duties, strict action will be taken immediately, he added.

To improve transparency and accountability, the Civil Surgeon has ordered regular surprise inspections in government hospitals. Dr Dhawan said that District Programme Officers are already conducting such checks, and any irregularities found are being addressed promptly.

He also emphasised the importance of hospital staff treating patients with kindness and respect. “Doctors and nurses must deal with people with love and understanding. A positive and caring environment encourages patients to recover faster,” he said.
