Health officials seize medicines worth Rs 70 lakh from stockist
The drug wing of the district health department found huge stocks of unbilled medicines from a stockist in Shanker market here on Saturday. Zonal Drug Authority Kulwinder Singh said that a team of the department raided the premises of the godown after receiving a tip-off.
He said they found huge stocks of medicines, including Pregabalin, from the godown. Singh said that the owner of the godown, Amit Kumar, did not produce any bills for the medicines which have a market value of nearly Rs 70 lakh. He said that the seized stocks include 16 different kinds of medicines.
Singh said the team collected six samples of the medicines and sent them for testing. He said further action would be initiated after the test reports are received.
