Acting on a tip-off, the B-Division police busted a flesh trade racket being operated from Hotel BR located in Kahiyaan Wala Bazaar here yesterday. The police arrested the hotel manager, identified as Suraj Kumar, a resident of Adda Bhikhiwind, Mandir Wala Bazaar, Tarn Taran, and rescued four women from the premises.

According to police officials, Suraj Kumar was allegedly running the racket from the hotel. A case under sections 3, 5 and 9 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, has been registered at the B-Division police station here.

Investigation into the case has been initiated and the accused has been produced before the court to obtain police remand for questioning, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Gagandeep Singh.
