Officials of the Agriculture Department has advised farmers to inspect their wheat fields daily for any pest attacks after reports of such incidents in Malwa area. The officials stated that no such incident has been reported here so far.

Chief Agriculture Officer Tajinder Singh said the farmers should make it a habit to visit their fields daily and inspect the crop. He said the farmers should inspect the crop thoroughly and see if any pests are there in the soil which are damaging roots.

The officials said chemical sprays should only be used after consultation with agriculture officials and in the required doses only. The farmers should also irrigate mildly their wheat fields after 21 days of the sowing of wheat.
