The Easy Jamabandi Portal, recently launched to simplify the functioning of the Revenue Department, has successfully resolved a land mutation case pending for over three years in just one day. On June 19, it was highlighted in these columns that 80-year-old retired professor Avtar Singh Uppal, who had been struggling for three years to get the “inteqal” of his property registered. Prof Uppal had transferred his property in Leharka village of Majitha sub-tehsil to his son and grandson in February 2023, but despite paying the registration fee and other charges, the patwari had failed to do his duty.

District Revenue Officer Navkirt Singh said the case was resolved within a day after the Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar, intervened. Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney said that all services are available 24X7, and users can request a service assistant to visit their home. Residents can also call the helpline number 1076 for assistance. Digitally signed documents are delivered instantly on WhatsApp.
