Khalsa College of Education, Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar, lifted the overall championship trophy at the Youth Festival of Education Colleges under Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), which concluded on Tuesday.

Government Education College secured the first runner-up position, while Montgomery Guru Nanak College of Education, Jalandhar, was declared second runner-up.

The two-day zonal youth festival of education colleges affiliated with GNDU ended on a high note as Vice-Chancellor Prof Karamjeet Singh lauded the student artistes for their spirited performances despite recent floods and disruptions in academic schedules.

Dr Amandeep Singh announced that the zonal youth festivals for government colleges would be held from October 16 to 18. Competitions for the C Zone (Jalandhar) will take place from October 25 to 27, for the I Zone (Amritsar) from October 29 to 31, and for the B Zone from November 2 to 4. The Inter-Zonal Final ‘Youth Mela’ will be held from November 7 to 10.
