The two-day zonal games organised by the Khalsa Diwan concluded successfully at Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School here today. On this occasion, Harjit Singh, president of the local Chief Khalsa Diwan Committee and Member In-charge of the school, was the chief guest, while Gurinder Singh, vice-president of the local committee, attended as the special guest.

Principal Satwant Singh Bains stated that during the two-day event, around 1,700 players from 12 schools of Tarn Taran, Asal Uttar, Burj Marhana, Jhabal, Ghasitpur, Kasel, Naushera Dhala, Naushera Pannuan, Patti, Piddi, Sur Singh and Ucha Bet (Kapurthala) participated with great enthusiasm and displayed outstanding performances in various games.

Addressing the gathering, Harjit Singh congratulated the winners and encouraged all participating players to continue striving for excellence.

In the boys’ tug-of-war (under-17) event, Asal Uttar secured first place and Chabal stood second; while in boys’ tug-of-war (under-19), Chabal secured first place and Patti came second. In the U-17 volleyball event, Chabal clinched the first position, followed by Naushera Pannuan. In the U-17 basketball event, Asal Uttar took first place, while Sur Singh came second. In the U-14 badminton event, Tarn Taran stood first and Patti second. In the U-17 badminton event, Tarn Taran claimed the first position and Ucha Bet came second. In chess (under-14), Tarn Taran secured the first place, with Chabal in second position.

On this occasion, Gurinder Singh, Navjot Singh and Randeep Singh also addressed the audience and congratulated the winners and school staff on the successful conclusion of the sports event.

Principal Satwant Singh Bains encouraged students to actively participate in sports with full enthusiasm and dedication. Madhubala, Principal and Assistant Director of Sri Hargobindpur School, Pampaljit Kaur, Principal of Burj Marhana School and Harkirat Kaur, Principal of Nandachaur School, were also present as observers.
