Khalsa Hockey Academy girls bag silver at national sub-junior championship

Khalsa University Chancellor and Council president Satyajit Singh Majithia and KCGC secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chinna praised the players of the Khalsa Hockey Academy team for their feat.
Majithia said, “It is a commendable effort from these bright, young talented athletes of the Khalsa Charitable Society, which is always concerned about the bright future of the students.”
“Besides organising training programmes, the charitable society also develops programmes with experts to enhance students’ academic performance and involvement in sports, cultural events and other activities, otherwise, so that the students of Khalsa institutions can fulfil their role in society,” he added.
He said that students from Khalsa institutions were bringing glory to their districts and colleges through their hard work and dedication.
Majithia and Chhina jointly praised the capable leadership of Khalsa College Physical Education Principal Dr Kanwaljit Singh and the rigorous training by hockey coach Amarjit, and encouraged the players to achieve further progress in the future.
Dr Kanwaljit Singh said that players from the Khalsa Hockey Academy brilliantly showcased their skills at the 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Women’s Academy Championship, which was held in Karnal, Haryana.
He said the team registered impressive victories in the league stage, defeating Markandeshwar Hockey Academy (2-0), Raja Karan Hockey Academy, Karnal (4-0), and RK Rai Hockey Academy, Delhi (2-0).
Singh added that in the semi-final match, Khalsa Hockey Academy defeated Pritam Siwach Sports Academy, Sonepat, by 2-1 to reach the final. However, it lost the final match and finished second.
