The Punjab Government is going to initiate the season-3 of “Khedan Watan Punjab Dian-2024” on August 29 in Sangrur. To create awareness about sports and various other events, a torch march reached the holy city today. A large number of sports lovers, players and officials led by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Lal Vishwas Bains welcomed the torch march.

Speaking on the occasion, SDM Bains said sports inculcates discipline in a person’s life and also keeps the body healthy. He said as per the guidelines of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, season-3 of “Khedan Watan Punjab Dian-2024” had been launched with the aim of creating a healthy and colourful Punjab.

Welcoming all sports lovers, players and coaches, the SDM said “Khedan Watan Punjab Dian” received a huge response in which a large number of sportsmen participated in the past years. He said Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had provided a good platform for players to make a mark at the international level. He invited more and more sportsmen to participate in “Khedan Watan Punjab Dian”. He said in these competitions, games would be held at the block, district and state level and prizes would also be given to players. He urged all sportspersons of the district to register online to participate in the season-3 of the event.

He said after marching across Punjab, the torch would reach Sangrur on August 29, where the third season of the games would be inaugurated. The torch march at each district headquarters is being attended by eminent sportspersons, Sports Department personnel, local representatives and district administration officials.

District Sports Officer Sukhchain Singh, district officials, players, coaches and a large number of sports lovers were present on the occasion.
