According to Dhanna Singh, a state leader of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC), and other senior members of the village, more than 200 villagers participated in the meeting.
The elders, in the ‘Panchati Nama’, resolved that no land in the village may be purchased by individuals who have migrated from outside the state, migrant daily wage workers must leave the village once their work is completed and workers may not reside in the village if their employer is not present in the house.
Dhanna Singh said the copies of the resolution have yet to be formally submitted to the Panchayat, police and other concerned departments, and called for action to be taken “in true spirit.”
