With the motive of educating masses, the Amritsar Development Authority (ADA) has uploaded a list containing the names of approved localities on its websites.

Since the jurisdiction of the ADA extends up to Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Tarn Taran, besides Amritsar, one can notice the list of townships being established in these areas. These are the localities, which have obtained licences after being approved by the Punjab Urban Development Authority (PUDA).

The uploaded information contains details of Khasra numbers, duration of licences, layout plan and other information to prospective buyers to save them from any wrongdoing. This information was also forwarded to the offices of Deputy Commissioners of these cities.

Lovejit Kalsi, Additional Chief Administrator of ADA, said apart from public, officials of the Revenue or any other department could easily access the entire information regarding these colonies from the ADA website.

She stated that as per the directions of the Bhagwant Mann-led government, a drive against illegal colonies had been initiated. Under the drive, basic civic infrastructure was demolished of at least two unauthorised colonies during the past three weeks in the city.
