The camp is not only providing medical facilities but also has an intensive care unit (ICU) for patients who need urgent care.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sakshi Sawhney said that a survey of flood-hit areas near Ramdass has been completed. Announcements about the medical camp are also being made in nearby gurdwaras so that people are informed.
She shared that around 750 patients have been treated at the camp. Free medicines have been distributed in six villages — Makowal, Kot Gurbakhsh, Gaggomahal, Machhival and Maddu Chhanga. Blood tests have also been carried out. Army personnel posted in the area are also receiving treatment at the camp.
Sawhney added that relief material is being delivered by boat to the people stranded in Hardowal village with the help of Army personnel. “The district administration is making every possible effort to ensure the health and safety of flood-hit families,” she said.
The DC also informed that another special medical camp has been set up at Sudhar base camp with the help of experts from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). Here, flood victims are being examined and given medical assistance in cooperation with the district administration, she said.
Meanwhile, health teams have been carrying out anti-larva spraying in villages like Ghonewal and Machhival to prevent the spread of diseases such as dengue and malaria.
