According to the police, a written complaint was submitted by Sonia’s social media handler, stating that on December 8, an unknown person, using the ID @preet_jatit581, uploaded threatening posts on social media, claiming that he would shoot and kill her.
Taking the matter seriously, the police immediately registered an FIR under relevant sections of the BNS and Information Technology act at the cyber crime police station.
During the technical investigation and human intelligence gathering, the police identified the person operating the said social media ID as Gopi, a resident of Bhindi Saida area. The accused was promptly arrested.
