Man dies, narrow escape for wife, son as bikes collide

A man died while his wife and three-year-old son had a narrow escape in a road accident near Dehra Sahib village on Thursday.

The incident occurred after a head-on collision between two motorcycles. ASI Gurdev Singh of Goindwal Sahib police station said that the deceased has been identified as Gurjant Singh (28), a resident of Chaudhriwala (Naushehra Pannua) village who was on way to Dehra Sahib on a motorcycle. Jaspreet Kaur, wife of the deceased, said they met with the accident as their motorcycle collided with another motorcycle. She said that her husband received serious injuries and was taken to a nearby private hospital where the doctors declared him dead. Jaspreet Kaur and her three-year-old son who were also on the motorcycle had a narrow escape.

Ajay Singh, a resident of Lohar village who was driving the other motorcycle, has been booked under section 106 (1) and 81 of the BNS. He absconded from the spot.
