A couple, resident of Bhuchar Kalan, duped a man from their own village of Rs 4 lakh by promising him a job in the Army. The accused have been identified as Mangal Singh and his wife Harjit Kaur. Harjit Singh had been visiting their house regularly for the job letter. The couple gave him a fake job letter in which it was mentioned that he was to join at Tawang (near the China border). The couple later sent him to another spot in Guwahati where the staff said that he had been cheated with a fake job letter. A case has been registered against the accused.
