A man was shot dead by his neighbour Jaskaran Singh over a minor issue in the border village of Kalia here on Wednesday. The deceased was putting earth on the backside of his house to stop the rainwater from entering the foundation of the house. This was not acceptable to Jaskaran Singh and his family members.

The deceased has been identified as Kewal Krishan (50) of Kalia village. Owing to the rainy season, Kewal Krishan went outside to put earth near the back portion of his house to stop the seepage of the rainwater into the foundation of the house.
