Man, woman found intoxicated in Amritsar, video goes viral

A video of a man and a woman, allegedly in an intoxicating state, near the local bus stand here went viral on social media on Friday.

Police got them admitted to a de-addiction centre.

The two confessed that they were drug addicts and would take pharmaceutical drugs. They said they now wanted to be treated.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (East) Gurinderbir Singh Sidhu said the Rambagh police had counselled the two to get treatment at the de-addiction centre, where efforts would be made to get them rehabilitated.

He said that earlier too, efforts were made to put them off drugs but to no avail.
