Remarkably, sportspersons are not charged for education, lodging and boarding facilities at the university. Besides, two seats in each department and over 20 seats in the Physical Education Department are reserved for outstanding sportspersons. Technical and scientific training are provided free of charge.

GNDU director (sports) Kanwar Mandeep Singh said, “The university invests about Rs 10 crore in sports every year. Third AC tickets are provided to players for travel so that they can participate in all university games across India. The players get Adidas track suits and have access to quality sports infrastructure.”
