A congregation will be held here on Sunday to pay tributes to AAP MLA from Tarn Taran, Dr Kashmir Singh Sohal, who passed away recently. Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, along with other senior leaders of the party, are expected to attend the congregation.

Family sources said that after performing Bhog of Sri Akhand Path at the family’s Fatehchak residence in Tarn Taran, Kirtan and Antim Ardas will be performed at Pritam Garden situated on the Tarn Taran-Amritsar road.

With the party’s senior leadership expected to attend the last rites, the police is making tight security arrangements. However, district police officials refused to give details of the security arrangements.

Cabinet Minister Gurmit Singh Khudian, Dr Ravjot Singh and Khemkaran MLA Sarwan Singh Dhunn visited the family to express their condolences to Navjot Kaur Hundal, wife of the late MLA Dr Sohal, son Dr Navpreet Singh Sohal and other family members on Saturday. They described Dr Kashmir Singh Sohal as a man of principles and said his passing away was a great loss for the people and the Aam Aadmi Party.
