Mehal Singh assumes charge as Khalsa varsity VC

A noted Punjabi scholar and academician, Mehal Singh, assumed charge as the first vice-chancellor of the newly revived Khalsa University on Wednesday. Singh is also serving as the principal of Khalsa College, while Khushwinder Singh joined as the registrar of the university. Both joined the office today in the presence of top management functionaries, including Chancellor Satyajit Singh Majithia, Pro-Chancellor Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina and governing body members of the university.

Senior offcials of KCGC said Singh, who had more than 35 years of teaching and administrative experience, was appointed following a rigorous selection process by the search and screening committee, constituted recently by the governing body of Khalsa University.
