After waiting for almost two weeks, the moong crop has finally started reaching grain markets in the district. District mandi officials stated that a total of 35 quintals of moong crop arrived in the markets of the district during the last two days.

The district Mandi Board has set up two designated centres for procurement of moong crop at the Bhagatawala grain market and Gehri Mandi. The state government had earlier this season announced to procure moong crop at the MSP (minimum support price) of Rs 7,275 per quintal.

Mandi Board officials stated that the maximum permissible limit for moisture for the crop has been fixed at 12 per cent. They stated that the crop is being procured by Markfed which has deputed its staff at both the grain markets.
