On the second day of his visit to the flood-ravaged areas in Ajnala, MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla alleged that Mukhtiar Singh, personal assistant to former Cabinet minister of AAP government Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, had breached the canal at Balladwal village of Ajnala constituency with a JCB last night to save his crop, putting the lives of around 40-50 villagers to danger and damaging crops of various villages.

Aujla toured Balladwal village today and said that in view of this serious matter, he had appealed to the Chief Minister, DGP Punjab, Chief Secretary and Minister of Canal Department and higher officials to immediately take strict legal action against the personal assistant of the former minister and get a case registered.

After meeting the people affected by floods, he demanded more official reinforcements and setting up of more camps as help was not reaching people in time.

Aujla today took stock of the situation due to the breach in an embankment of the Ravi near Balladwal, Khanwal, Gujjarpura Theh, Jagdev Khurd, Chaharpur, Bedi Chhanna, Gillanwali, Malakpur of Ajnala Ramdas villages. He asked the state and Central governments for immediate help for the people and deployment of the NDRF.
