He was accompanied by Dera Baba Nanak MLA Gurdeep Singh Randhawa and Deputy Commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh. Dera Baba Nanak and Dinanagar were two of the worst-affected subdivisions of Gurdaspur district.
Dr Sahney said five JCBs and 18 tractor-trolleys were deployed for de-silting at Dharamkot Pattan village along the banks of Ravi. The MP said the machinery, along with labour, will remain deployed until their land was ready for the sowing of wheat crop.
He distributed essential items to several families, including food grains, beds and other household items.
