On the instructions of Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh, the Municipal Town Planning (MTP) Department took action against buildings constructed without approved plans in the city. Three illegally under-construction buildings were partially demolished by the MC today.

A team of MTP Department, led by Central Zone Assistant Town Planner (ATP) Parminder Jeet Singh and building inspector Navjot Kaur visited the walled area in the city and demolished one floor of a building at Mahan Singh Gate.

Two more buildings were partially demolished in the Sherawala Gate area.

Municipal Town Planner Narinder Sharma said, “We have sealed three buildings for violation of the building bylaws.”

MC Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh urged residents not to construct buildings without approval of building plans by the civic body. “This crackdown aims to enforce compliance of building bylaws and maintaining planning standards in the city. We will continue to take action against illegal constructions in the coming days,” said Sharma.
