A murder suspect, identified as Sharanpreet Singh (19), a resident of Rangar Nangal village in Batala, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Mohkampura area here six days ago.

However, now the police have booked several persons on charges of culpable homicide and snatching. Among those booked were identified as Lakhwinder Singh and Maninder Singh, both residents of Rangar Nangal, Batala, besides their unidentified accomplices.

Rajinder Singh, SHO, Mohkampura police station, said the case was registered on the complaint of the victim’s family. He said there was no injury marks on his body. He said further investigation was on and the victim’s body was handed over to the family members after an autopsy.

“We had found the body of the victim on January 19, which was identified by the family later,” he said.
