The Shaheed Nagar Kirtan, commemorating the 350th anniversary of the martyrdom of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur, began its journey today from Darbar Sahib Tarn Taran, en route to Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Chhevin Chheharta, Amritsar. The procession began from Gurdwara Dhobari Sahib, Assam, as part of the ongoing centenary celebrations.

On this occasion, SGPC president Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, accompanied by SGPC members and other prominent figures, were present. A group of Raagi Jathas performed Gurbani Kirtan at the religious Diwan and Granthi Sahib Giani Kewal Singh took the opportunity to share the history of the ninth Guru’s martyrdom with the congregation.

Addressing the gathering, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami emphasised the importance of the centenary days dedicated to Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. He urged every Sikh to actively participate in the commemorative events. “The enthusiasm shown by the congregation towards the Shaheedi Nagar Kirtan is a reflection of the deep devotion and reverence towards Guru Sahib,” Dhami stated.

Along the procession route, the Nagar Kirtan was warmly welcomed by devotees at various stages, with the Sangat paying tribute to Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib.
