On Thursday, Additional MC Commissioner Surinder Singh, accompanied by senior officers from various departments, visited different stretches of the GT Road starting from the Golden Gate to review the ongoing development and maintenance activities. During the inspection, the officials interacted with the staff on-site and directed them to expedite the works to avoid any inconvenience during the Nagar Kirtan. Municipal Commissioner Bikramjit Singh Shergill emphasised civic arrangements must reflect the sanctity of the occasion. "The Nagar Kirtan is a major spiritual event for the city and every effort should be made to ensure smooth movement, cleanliness and facilities for devotees along the route," he said.

The MC Commissioner further added that special attention is being given to maintaining cleanliness and beautification of key points on the route, with adequate deployment of sanitation staff and lighting arrangements. He directed that the ongoing works be completed well before the commencement of the Nagar Kirtan to present a clean and organised appearance of the city during the two-day religious procession.

The inspection marked a coordinated effort by the MC including the engineering, sanitation and electrical departments, working together to ensure the success of the forthcoming event.
