The offerings (chadava) by devotees at the local Thakur Dwara Madan Mohan Mandir was counted today by a team of officials led by Pawandeep Singh, Naib Tehsildar, Chabal, the receiver appointed for the purpose, on Wednesday .

Naib Tehsildar, Chabal, was appointed as the receiver years back when two different groups of Hindu community clashed over the control of the Mandir which is an ancient religious site with a huge following. More than 100 members of both groups were booked on criminal charges.

Naib Tehsildar Pawandeep Singh said that 16 patwaris and other staff of his office had counted the cash which was Rs 5,02,770. The amount is to be deposited in the accounts of the mandir.

The mandir has huge landed property in nearby Bath village and a number of shops in Tarn Taran town.
