Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) Ranjit Avenue has received quality assurance certificate from National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH).

Civil Surgeon Dr Prabhdeep Kaur Johal said a NABH team had inspected the performance of the centre on various parameters during an inspection last month. Apart from a few private hospitals in city, the UPHC Ranjit Avenue and Jallianwala Bagh Martyr’s Memorial Civil Hospital are the only public health facilities which have managed to acquire the prestigious certificate.

Dr Johal said before issuing the certificate, the facility is judged on parameters as patient care, cleanliness, infrastructure, hygiene and many other considerations. “The certification has established that government-run facilities are better than even most private hospitals,” she said appreciating the role of the hospital staff.
