Two days after the Pahalgam terror attack that left 27 tourists dead and several others injured, the National Investigating Agency (NIA) raided five hotels located on Queenz road area near Amritsar railway station here on Thursday.

The National Investigating Agency teams examined the visitors’ records apart from questioning the members of hotel management and staff.

A senior police official confirmed that National Investigating Agency teams had visited the hotels and sought security from the local police. However, he expressed ignorance about the motive behind the raids.

It has been learnt that visitors from Jammu and Kashmir used to stay here.

The raids started in the wee hours today and continued for several hours. Teams from Civil Lines, Sadar and Cantonment police stations accompanied them during the raids. The hotel authorities were reportedly served notices to join the investigations.
