Panel demands reinstatement of suspended teacher by May 20
The Joint Action Committee, which convened a meeting at Gandhi Municipal Park today, discussed the assurance given by MLA Khadoor Sahib, Manjinder Singh Lalpura, regarding the reinstatement of Gurpartap Singh, in-charge of Government Senior Secondary School, Goindwal Sahib. He was suspended for allegedly using school students as waiters to serve leaders of the AAP at an official function held at the school.
MLA Manjinder Singh Lalpura had given this assurance to the representatives of the committee during a meeting held earlier.
During the meeting, leaders of the JAC, including Baldev Singh Basra, Manjinder Singh Dhillon and Karaj Singh Kairon, addressed the gathering, stating that the suspension was unjustified. They argued that no inquiry had been conducted and the teacher was not given a chance for a personal hearing. The leaders made it clear that if the suspension is not revoked by May 20, they will convene another JAC meeting to plan the next course of action and escalate the agitation against the state government.
