Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, in an effort to revitalise agriculture in flood-affected areas, organised a programme to distribute wheat seeds to farmers in the worst-affected Mundapind village on

Saturday. The initiative was conducted by the PAU-Farm Advisory Service Centre (FASC), Tarn Taran.

Dr Parvinder Singh, In-charge of FASC, said 100 farmers received 100 quintals of improved wheat seed varieties each, marking a significant step toward revitalising agriculture in the flood-affected regions.

Dr Makhan Singh Bhullar, Director of Extension Education, and Dr Tarsem Singh Dhillon, Additional Director of Extension Education, represented PAU at the event.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Bhullar and Dr Dhillon emphasised that Punjab Agricultural University has always stood firmly with the state’s farming community. Highlighting the compassionate dimension of the initiative, they noted that as part of the flood relief efforts, the university’s faculty and staff voluntarily donated one day’s salary to provide a total of 725 quintals of improved variety of wheat seeds.
