The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) has begun preparations for the 19th Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX), its premier annual event held in Amritsar. Like every year, this highly anticipated event will once again be held in December.

A delegation of the PHDCCI, led by Punjab Chapter Chair Karan Gilhotra, called on Punjab’s Industry and Commerce Minister Sanjeev Arora to deliberate on the upcoming expo. The meeting was also attended by Industry and Commerce Secretary Kamal Kishore Yadav, PHD Chamber Regional Director Bharti Sood and Resident Executive Punya Bhatia.

Karan Gilhotra welcomed the establishment of industrial committees, and noted that the expo drew lakhs of visitors every year and serves as a crucial platform for entrepreneurs to introduce products. He further pointed out that in the past, Punjab’s industrialists had to rely on Delhi to showcase their innovations, whereas today PITEX itself has evolved into a powerful launch-pad within Punjab.

Appreciating PHDCCI’s efforts, Arora said the Punjab Government was committed to facilitating industry growth by simplifying policies and ensuring time-bound clearances for businesses seeking to expand in the state. He further announced that he would personally attend PITEX this year and that his department would actively participate in the event.
