A thick blanket of fog enveloped the city on Saturday morning majorly limiting the visibility to just a few meters. The AQI level in Amritsar reached 326 in the morning, plunging it into the 'very poor' category.

Rail and road traffic were severely impacted, with commuters facing significant delays.

As per railway officials, the Intercity Express from Chandigarh to Amritsar is delayed by 1.07 hours. The schedule time was 11.30 am, which is expected to arrive at 12.37 pm. Amarpali express is expected to reach at 15.43 pm with a delay of over three hours.

Swarna Jayanti Shatabdi Express is also delayed by two hours.
