The Diocese of Amritsar (DoA), Church of North India (CNI), paid a befitting tribute to Sadhu Sundar Singh, an Indian Christian ‘sadhu’ and missionary, on his 135th birth anniversary, by organising the first Sadhu Sundar Singh Pilgrimage in collaboration with Sadhu Sundar Singh Global Forum.

The six-day pilgrimage, which took off today on Sadhu Sundar Singh’s birth anniversary, shall cover all sites associated with his life including his village Rampur in Ludhiana, where he was born, raised and educated (September 3); Subathu (September 5), where his house is situated; Shimla (September 6), where he was baptised; and Kotgarh(September 7, 8), where the cave of Sadhu Sundar Singh is located.

The diocese has already approached the Forest Department for permissions to acquire and develop the cave of Sadhu Sundar Singh in Kotgarh,” said PK Samantaroy, Bishop, Diocese of Amritsar, Church of North India.
