Police, BSF recover 508 gm heroin in Tarn Taran

In a joint search operation conducted by the police and the BSF on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, a packet containing 508 gm heroin was recovered from the fields of farmer Kashmir Singh in Dall village. Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Kulwant Singh said that he had received information regarding the presence of the packet in the fields, which led to the successful recovery during the operation.

The ASI further revealed that the consignment was delivered via drone from Pakistan. A case has been registered under Sections 21-C, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act.

In a separate incident, a team from the Chabal Police, led by Sub-Inspector Rani Kaur, arrested Rachhpal Singh Noni of Gaggo Bua village. He was found in possession of 77 gm heroin. A case has been registered under Sections 21-B, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act.
