Police crack robbery case within 24 hours

The police also recovered a car, pistol, cash and mobile phone.
The case was registered under sections 304(2), 351(2), 3(5), 317(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Police Station Maqboolpura following a complaint lodged through helpline 112 by Davinder Singh, a resident of Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The victim, along with his three friends, was strolling near Green Villa Palace on the Amritsar-Attari Bypass road when four unidentified men in a white car forcibly snatched their mobile phone and cash before fleeing the scene.
Acting swiftly, the police team tracked down and arrested all four accused from the Maqboolpura area. They were identified as Bikramjit Singh alias Bikka (51), a taxi driver and resident of Chabba; Sunil Singh alias Sheelu (28), a cattle trader from Chabba; Parnam Singh alias Panni (24), a horse rental vendor from Sultanwind; and Satnam Singh alias Happy (33), a mobile shop owner from Tarn Taran Road.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said Bikramjit had a prior theft case registered at Police Station Roopnagar, Anandpur Sahib, while Sunil was previously booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Chheharta here. Parnam Singh was also facing four prior cases, including NDPS and assault charges.
The police seized the car used in the crime, a country-made .32 bore pistol with a live cartridge, a mobile phone, an iron rod and Rs 12,000 in cash from the accused.
