In the first case, the Mehta police arrested Kuldeep Singh of Khabe Rajputan village and Abhideep Singh of Basrawan village and recovered 1.596 kg of heroin, an electronic weighing machine, and a Platina motorcycle (PB18-N-2802) from their possession.

DSP Ravinder Singh said both accused were caught at a naka set up on the link road leading from Khabe Rajputan to Butter Kalan following a secret tip-off. Investigations were on to ascertain the source of the contraband which was suspected to be smuggled from Pakistan via drones.

In another operation, the Jandiala police arrested two men, identified as Gagandeep Singh, alias Gazni, of Jyotisar Colony and Sunny Singh, alias Nanni, of Shekhupur Mohalla in Jandiala Guru. The arrests were made at Bhatha Chowk, Amarkot, where the police recovered 100 gm heroin, two .30 bore pistols, four live cartridges, and Rs 1,000 drug money from them.
