The Amritsar rural police arrested six persons who were found consuming heroin in separate incidents in the past 24 hours.
Sukhjinder Singh, alias Happy, of Nijjar village falling under the Khalchian police station was arrested by a police team led by ASI Harbans Singh here. The police recovered a half-burnt Rs 10 note, silver foil paper and a lighter from him.
Similarly, the Rajasansi police arrested Pawandeep Singh of Bhitewad village near the Kukrawala village sports stadium. He was caught red-handed while consuming heroin. A police team led by ASI Gurvail Singh seized a silver paper and a Rs 10 currency note along with a lighter from him.
Likewise, Gurbhej Singh of Tangra and Lucky of Dashmesh Nagar Colony and Lucky of Dashmesh Nagar Colony were arrested by the Tarsikka police while consuming drugs at a secluded place near a non-operational brick-klin near Jabbowal village.
In another incident, the Kathunangal police led by ASI Rajinder Pal nabbed Sham Singh, alias Teeta, of Chawinda Devi village and Baljit Singh of Alakare village while they were having drugs near wild shrubs on the roadside at Chawinda Devi bypass colony. The police seized heroin laced silver paper, a lighter and a Rs 10 currency note which was being used for snuffing drugs by rolling it.
