Police recreate gunshot firing incident at Fateh Singh Colony in Amritsar

The police are also checking records of the arms licence holders in the area
The police at the spot where a girl suffered a bullet injury in Amritsar.

A day after three-year-old girl suffered a gunshot injury at Fateh Singh Colony near Gate Hakima area here, the police today recreated the scene for investigation. According to the police, the girl was hit by a stray bullet when she was going to tuition along with her father yesterday.

The police are also checking records of the arms licence holders in the area apart from analysing the record of arms dealers there to ascertain the weapon from which bullet might have been fired.

However, the police are still clueless about the perpetrators of the crime. The police reached the spot for the third time to recreate the scene and check angles from where bullet had come. “It was a stray bullet that hit the girl’s leg while falling. Someone had fired bullet into the air which came down and hit the victim,” said Vishaljit Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police. The police believe that the bullet was fired in around 200 to 300 metres from the spot.
